Ideally located, Le Dauphin offers fish and seafood dishes that stand out in the Béarn region's duck-centric culture. And it's a triumph. Chef Zian Bodou delights us with magnificent sauces that perfectly complement the scallops or sole. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the waitresses are very attentive to their customers' well-being. The terrace, currently being renovated, promises to be a refreshing spot right by the fountain. In short, we had a wonderful time at a reasonable price. If you love fish, don't hesitate.

We came to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday and were greeted by the smiling and professional Auriane. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. The fish and seafood were divine. The scallops were exceptional. And we had a lovely chat with the owner, Zian, who clearly has a passion for sharing his cuisine and his choice of ingredients. A truly wonderful experience, and we can't wait to come back!

Absolutely exceptional, the young chef brings a great deal of structure to the cuisine. A must-try.

Excellent, refined cuisine, attentive service, shaded terrace, new, young team that deserves to be recommended.

A little gem of a place to discover in Pau, right next to the castle. Outside, if it's hot, the fountain and water features bordering the terrace offer welcome shade. Inside, the "varnished boat" decor, quite unusual for the region, is a bit surprising (it feels more like Pornic). However, the cuisine offered by the young new chef and the fresh seafood (sourced from neighboring Spain) are superb. Special mention goes to the duck confit spring rolls (crispy yet meltingly tender, perfectly seasoned and spiced to perfection) – the chutney is unnecessary as it's so delicious. Pluma and razor clams (which is very rare) are cooked to perfection. Flavorful sauces. You'll want to come back… especially since the €30 set menu is excellent value for money. Best of luck to the new team!

Lunch for two, only four other diners at that seating. No complaints about the welcome or the service. However, the food didn't live up to the restaurant's previous standards. The scallop carpaccio was swimming in oil. The fish was good, but both our dishes were seriously undercooked… the salmon was raw in the center, the razor clams undercooked, and the same for the hake… We didn't order dessert as we were disappointed with the restaurant. It's a shame; the quality has declined since the change of chef.

We do not recommend this establishment. We came for my birthday and ordered a starter of golden calamari. While eating, I came across a piece with a strange taste: it was actually pork fritters, even though I don't eat pork. Not only is this a serious culinary error for a restaurant specializing in fish, but the way the situation was handled was shameful. The waitress half-heartedly admitted the mistake but left the plate on our table for the rest of the meal, without offering to replace it or provide any compensation whatsoever. A complete lack of professionalism and respect for the customer. Very disappointing.

Very disappointing. Warm martini aperitif. Had to ask for an ice cube. Toasted appetizer (mussels). Main course swimming in grease. I come to this restaurant every year during the holidays, but today was the last time... JF

I have been to thos restaurant 3 times, as my in-laws liked it initially, and every time I get disappointed even more. The food is at best mediocre, all the dishes taste and look alike. We ordered 4 different main courses, all of them came with the same overcooked overspiced rice and decoration. The dishes are always too salty, and definitely not innovative or even interesting. The service is the worst. When we visited ladt time, there were two ladies serving 5 tables in the entire quiet Monday evening. One of them had no knowledge of English, she didn't even understand our request for still and sparkling water. The other one had some knowledge of English and took put order. They both looked very unprofessional, with their undergarments coming out of their dresses and all. They kept on going out for a smoke during our 2 hour stay there. They were not able to reach and collect the plates from the table, so we had to pass them over. The atmosphere of the place is very unappetising, with very old fashioned and out of order interior. At the enterance there was a note advertising the air-conditioned premises, but the air-conditioning was barely working, and inside temperature was at around 32 degrees.

Honestly really disappointed, the food was cold and the dishes were dirty… way too expensive for what it was!

We went to Le Dauphin on its first night after reopening. New management, but the same success: the food is still excellent, the service is top-notch—in short, all the ingredients for a great evening are still there. I highly recommend it, and we'll be back!

We discovered this charming restaurant and its new team last night. The setting is superb, the atmosphere cozy and welcoming... we felt right at home. Special mention goes to the two young waitresses: welcoming, friendly, smiling, attentive, and very caring towards the customers. The cuisine was refined and elegant. We wish them every success and will definitely return whenever we're in Pau.
